Optimización de almacenes con media ponderada y técnicas de localización discreta

The study analyzes the management of a warehouse in a production system, responsible for supplying two service areas. Inefficiencies were identified due to the high variability in demand, which led to delays from material shortages and inefficient use of warehouse space. Based on the demand data for the entire year, a 39.75% non-compliance was observed, attributed to the use of the arithmetic mean to estimate stock levels. A weighted average approach was proposed, improving compliance to 83.91%. Two warehouse distribution solutions were presented: one based on the use of ropaks, covering 85% of the most frequently used materials, and another combining ropaks and racks to optimize space and handle 100% of the materials. Distribution was determined using case number 8 from a quantitative facility location method
