This article explores the strategic implementation of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) to enhance teaching and research in engineering education. By evaluating practical activities, it confirms GAI’s effectiveness in augmenting workforce capabilities, altering required skill sets, and introducing both challenges and opportunities within engineering pedagogy. Through a targeted training course, this study not only demostrates GAI’s capacity to enrich educational and reserch practices but also emphasizes the urgency of updating curricula and teaching methods to prepare future engineers for the digital era.
