Abstract

This paper shows the development of an improvement project in an aquaculture company in southern Mexico. The development of such work was based on the stages of a traditional DMAIC project, but without seeking the objective of implementing a traditional Six Sigma project, but rather, using it as a guide for the launch of Kaizen events, which allow to implement small but substantial improvements for the production process. A key part of the project was the development of the VSM of current state to be able to identify the critical points of improvement of the production process considering the most important variables delimited in the stage of defining the project, this allowed to develop Kaizen events that focused on being effective and with substantial potential benefits for the process.
