Funding Sources / Journal Fees

Funding Sources

RIIM is published by the Tecnológico Nacional de México – Instituto Tecnológico de Orizaba, which provides the institutional infrastructure, the editorial management platform (Open Journal Systems), and the work of the editorial team.

The journal's operating costs (editing, platform maintenance, dissemination, and organization of the biannual academic event) are covered by the resources of the publishing institution and by the publication fees paid by authors of accepted articles, as described in the section Journal Charges.

The journal does not receive funding from commercial companies, sponsors, or organizations other than those mentioned above. No funding source intervenes in peer review or in the selection of articles.

Journal Charges

RIIM does not charge for manuscript submission, editorial evaluation, or peer review. The acceptance decision is made exclusively on academic merit, without knowledge of payment or the author's ability to pay, and the personnel managing the charges do not participate in peer review.

Once acceptance has been notified, a publication fee (Article Processing Charge, APC) of $2,500 MXN per article is requested (in effect since 2025; please consult the call for papers of the corresponding period).

The fee includes:

  • Publication of the article in the corresponding volume and issue, in open access.
  • Certificate of publication.
  • Participation in the journal's biannual academic event, either in person or online, subject to availability and to the schedule of each period.

Payment must be made within 10 calendar days after the acceptance notification; otherwise, the article will not be included in the corresponding volume.

There are no additional charges for the number of pages, figures, or other ordinary editorial services. Readers access and download the content at no cost.
